Esteemed Star Pat Finn, Known For Appearances in The Middle and Friends, Dies at 60 Years Old.
Stateside performer Finn, who was seen in popular television series including Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has passed away at 60 years old.
The comedic improv actor died at home in Los Angeles on Monday after undergoing treatment for cancer since 2022, per news outlets.
"He considered no one a stranger - only friends he didn't know yet," his loved ones stated in a announcement.
They noted that he had "lived his life fully - with joy and exuberance".
An Extensive Television Career
His initial on-screen part was on the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he appeared as the titular character's brother.
He subsequently landed a repeating character on "Murphy Brown" in the latter half of the 1990s.
He played the part of Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in the late 90s, playing a host famous for delegating unpleasant chores to his guests.
During the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he made guest appearances on numerous well-known programs, such as:
- King of Queens
- Friends
- "That '70s Show"
- House, M.D.
Finn was perhaps best known for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in "The Middle", starring in eight seasons between 2011 and 2018.
His film credits include It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
Beyond the Screen
Away from his acting parts, Finn was an improv performer and also taught at the Colorado university, where he was a professor.
He was part of a six-person improv troupe called Beer Shark Mice.
"He guided, supported, and advised numerous pupils during his career and you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone anyplace who has anything negative to say about him," his relatives stated.
In a tribute, colleague and actor Richard Kind said there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, authentic human being you could encounter".
"Always positive, making those around him better and funnier. An excellent dad and person," Kind wrote publicly.
Pat Finn is remembered by his partner Donna, his children, and his family.
