Football Analyst Chris Sutton Faces Off Against Singer Murs in Top Flight Predictions
The Gunners' 10-game victorious streak came to an end by Sunderland before the global hiatus, but will the English top division frontrunners bounce back against north London rivals Tottenham this weekend?
"{I believe like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," remarked soccer expert Chris Sutton.
"Frank will try to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating best this season - but Mikel Arteta's side typically still manage to win."
Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, versus artificial intelligence, fans and a range of special visitors.
In week 12, he faces performer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.
Murs' new record, Knees Up, is available on the weekend.
Football and Family Experiences
Olly is a talented soccer player as well as a accomplished artist and has been a star of multiple Soccer Aid games down the years - but he is not planning a serious return as a footballer.
"{I recently played in a benefit game the other evening for a friend of mine," he explained. "The side was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you want!
"I continue to love football, but I hurt my knee a few years ago and it still hasn't fully recovered. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it seriously again.
"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my daughter or son decides to play instead."
The singer and his wife his partner have two children, Madison and their son, and he is ready to emulate his dad by becoming their manager.
"I will not force football on our children but I've previously told Amelia that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be coaching their weekend football side," he said.
"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly owned a football club for a while too.
"My father coached with us when I was a child, which is probably where I inherited it. He coached our team for several seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the future for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"
Top Division Predictions
Weekend, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
The Blues may have to be patient for their star's comeback from injury but their attack is now stronger with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.
I still think this fixture will be quite close, however. The Clarets are well organised and their sole at Turf Moor losses so far have been against Liverpool and the Gunners.
This suggests a one-all draw to me, but I am actually going to go with the London side to edge it for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.
Sutton's prediction: 1-2
Olly's pick: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3
AI's outlook: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Cherries have been defeated in their past two matches - although both of them were on the road - but they got absolutely spanked by Villa last time out which shocked me.
On the other hand, West Ham secured two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they appear competitive again.
The Hammers' sole away victory this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when their boss Nuno was still that team's manager.
So, what exactly do I predict here - will it be the Hammers extending their run under their manager, or the home side responding?
I am going to go with the Cherries, because I think what happened against Villa was a anomaly.
Sutton's prediction: 2-0
The guest's prediction: Bournemouth are performing strongly but the visitors have improved under their boss. 2-2
AI's pick: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Bees were seen as one of the favourites for relegation before the season began, but they have impressed a several people under their manager and are in fine fettle with three in their past four games.
My son advised me to select Bees striker Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football squad a few weeks ago and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.
Thiago will likely find the net again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or support Brentford at Amex Stadium.
The Bees have not had great success on the road this season, and Brighton are consistently decent at their stadium. The visitors will attempt to hit them on the break but I feel the home manager's team pose much more of a danger.
Sutton's forecast: 2-1
The singer's view: It could be a match where you expect there is going to be a many scores but it actually turns out to be rather tight. 1-1
AI's prediction: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
It is a huge game for Fulham, who have lost five of their last six matches.
They have got lots of quality in their team but it still seems like they could be dragged into a drop zone battle.
As for Sunderland, indeed they are the unexpected success of the top flight season so far.
The away side's display in the two-all draw with the Gunners last time out was superb. We have not seen any other team rough up the North London side like that this term, and they were more than a match for them.
The sensible thing would be to back the Black Cats here, because they are obviously capable of roughing Fulham up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they defeated Chelsea at the close of last month.
However I am not do that. Instead, I truly need to carry on opposing Sunderland with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of credit for their positive results because they clearly love to defy my predictions.
Considering Fulham's home record, the only side they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Their manager's team will be absolutely eager for a good result, so I am going to predict they will pick up three much-needed points.
Sutton's forecast: 1-0
Olly's prediction: I'm aware Sunderland are performing strongly and additionally that Fulham are on a bad streak... but they have nonetheless been respectable at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0
AI's outlook: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
This is a tough one to predict. Liverpool have suffered seven of their last ten games in every tournament, but might they be among the teams who benefit from the {international break|
