Iranian Forces State Attack on US Base in the Kingdom of Bahrain, Amid Widespread Military Operations.
Iran's military claims to have hit a American military facility in Manama, as the country executed missile attacks throughout the Middle East in retaliation for a "massive" and continuing offensive targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an area close to the main base of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The extent of any damage is not yet known and the American officials has remained silent.
Airspace Engagements
Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - each hosting US military bases - reported they have engaged and destroyed missiles in their airspace.
In the Qatari capital, Qatar's defence ministry said it had intercepted a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the region.
Operation "Truthful Promise 4"
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement it was striking US bases and assets as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the attack on the Islamic Republic carried out by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday morning.
That US-Israeli operation - initiated at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far struck areas linked to the Iranian leadership, with US President Donald Trump urging the Iranian people to rise up against the leadership.
Regional Fallout
In Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israeli military said it had detected an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The Ministry of Defence of the UAE said in a statement that the nation has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems responded to the missiles with notable success and destroyed a several projectiles," the statement continued.
Officials reported missile fragments fell on a neighborhood in Abu Dhabi, causing some material damage and killing a civilian.
The United States Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
