New Particulars Emerge Regarding the Location of the Bodies of Rob and Michele Reiner Remains
Recent details have emerged regarding the tragic demises of renowned filmmaker Rob Reiner and photographer Michele Singer Reiner, whose bodies were found at their Los Angeles home property on Sunday.
A Discovery
As detailed in an account quoting a person close to the family, a practitioner scheduled for an appointment first raised the alarm after being unable to gain access the residence. This individual then got in touch with the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who lives nearby.
After gaining access to the residence, Romy came upon her father's body. Reports state she then fled the house in anguish, not realizing at that moment that her mother's body was there as well. Her roommate who had accompanied her promptly called 911. Subsequently, emergency responders discovered Michele Singer Reiner's body.
Legal Charges
Authorities have formally accused the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with the charges of premeditated murder, as well as the charge related to a weapon, said to be a knife. He is currently in custody and is ineligible for bail.
Correcting the Record
The anonymous source also disputed several previously reported details. It was stated that while Romy Reiner informed first responders that her brother Nick resided in a separate structure on the property, she did not name him as a potential suspect at that juncture.
The source also disputed published notions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been particularly "concerned" about Nick's behavior in the weeks leading up to the incident. Instead the family was "accustomed to working through [Nick's] problems together."
This correction also extends to reports of reportedly "unpredictable" behavior by Nick at a party held by Conan O'Brien the evening prior to the tragedy. Although the source stated they were not in a position to confirm whether Rob had "chastised" his son at the party, they said that suggestions of a "major confrontation" between the two were untrue.
Investigation Timeline
As stated by law enforcement officials, the medical examiner had yet to determine as of Tuesday whether the Reiners died on Saturday evening or on Sunday. Some accounts noted the condition of their bodies implied they had been deceased for a number of hours.
Nick Reiner was arrested at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park, some 15 miles from the scene. He was set to appear in court on Tuesday, but his attorney, Alan Jackson, stated his client had not been medically cleared and would not appear until Wednesday or later.
