The Renowned Musician Urges Support to Get Together for Palestine Song to UK Festive Top Spot.

A campaign is aiming to send a cultural melody to the Christmas number one spot. The campaign hopes to send support to communities in Gaza while also spotlighting Palestinian culture and creativity.

An Opportunity for Solidarity and an "Chart Upset"

Musician and artist Brian Eno, who performs on the track, stated that the release called 'Lullaby' represents a opportunity to stand with Palestinians during the holidays. He noted the potential for an unexpected chart success.

“It would be fantastic if that happened, yes,” he stated. “I wouldn't be completely disheartened if it doesn’t, festive releases are a category of their own.”

Defiant Message of Dignity and Freedom

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who sings on the reimagining of a traditional lullaby called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the piece's powerful central theme.

“It has a profound significance for many individuals,” Barghouti shared. “The message is that I would prefer a dignified death than live a life without freedom. That is the core idea of the song; we seek to lead a respectful existence that we deserve as Palestinians.”

Track's Background and Star-Studded Lineup

The song was recorded in the wake of a large-scale benefit event held in September. First conceived to be captured during the live event, the rendition was cut from the show due to scheduling overruns.

The diverse array of artists appearing on Lullaby includes a range of well-known figures from the scene. All were part of the September show, which successfully generated a considerable total for charitable causes.

Production and Release

Lullaby was brought to life by a trio of music creators. The single features a fusion of the original Arabic with new English lyrics.

The organizers behind the campaign have stated that their goal is to generate maximum funds for a dedicated fund. These resources will be channeled to Palestinian causes through an established charity.

“We don’t have a specific target,” a representative explained. “We’ll go for whatever we can get. Naturally, the higher the total, the greater the impact. It all goes out to Gaza.”

The context in the territory was described as its widespread damage, with a huge proportion of buildings reportedly in ruins or severely impacted.

“Against that backdrop, a few million won't make a massive dent. But I think the significant factor is primarily raising awareness for this issue and showing there’s another side to the story.”

The song is launching on Friday. Additionally, a full recording of the charity concert will be made ready to watch on a digital service from the 19th of December.
