Following the climactic events of the first season, the story broadens significantly, following the scheming media overlord Vox who seizes control of the narrative, igniting a series of ever-more explosive confrontations that naturally end in show-stopping musical numbers.

While it might not have a single breakout song quite like season one's "Loser, Baby," that's because each element in this season being more ambitious. The fight sequences, personal arcs, and above all the music are collectively more sophisticated. The story moves the main storyline dramatically while delivering plenty of weird, wild, and simply entertaining dark fantasy.

8. Daredevil: Born Again

Following the legendary Netflix show, this series faced immense expectations. After well-documented development challenges, the resulting show proves it was worthy of the wait. The story follows Matt Murdock after his dual life as Daredevil is exposed, leaving him vulnerable to enemies both history and new threats in a slightly take of his well-known setting.

A surprising this year's gem, this series could be described as an animated Breaking Bad with a sensibility of King of the Hill. Far from being a parody, the show plays out with the serious intensity of a classic conspiracy film. Accentuated by trippy visuals and an unnerving musical soundtrack, the plot explores deeper questions about the substance's true capabilities. It's a smart, visually striking, and utterly compelling ten-episode season.

6. Fallout Season 2

The hit series based on the iconic video game series came back with a new season of episodes that deepened its epic mystery and broadened its post-apocalyptic setting. Although it travels toward the legendary location of New Vegas, the story is far from a straight retelling of that title; rather, it further explore themes of authority and autonomy.
