Vince Zampella, Dies in a Los Angeles Car Crash

The visionary game developer, who helped create the immensely successful first-person shooter Call of Duty, has died in a car accident in California aged 55.

Zampella's death was confirmed by Electronic Arts, the parent company of Respawn Entertainment, a game studio which he helped establish.

The influential video game developer lost his life when his automobile collided and burst into flames on a freeway in the Los Angeles area on this past Sunday, according to.

"We are facing a heartbreaking loss, and our deepest sympathies go to Vince's loved ones, those closest to him, and all those touched by his creative vision," a spokesperson for Electronic Arts commented.
